Sylvia Park 2012-2016
Concurrent with Panmure Phase Two, the Mt Wellington Highway outside Sylvia Park shopping centre will be widened for bus lanes and integrated with future plans for a bus hub at Sylvia Park. The area for widening is on the street close to SEART (the South Eastern Arterial flyover, which delivers south-east bound traffic from the Southern Motorway towards Pakuranga and Manukau city) and State Highway One, and at Aranui Road.
The idea behind this is better access and stop off points for buses will be provided in the area, with improved bus services at Sylvia Park in the future.
Sylvia Park improvements include:
- the introduction of a bus lane
- the widening of the street
- landscaping and upgrade of the streetscape along Mt Wellington Highway around Sylvia Park’s main entrance.
